Dr. Christy Hooper, DVM CCRP
Dr. Hooper grew up on a small farm close to Athens, GA where she raised cattle and horses. An avid animal lover, her lifelong dream was to become a veterinarian. She received an Associate degree in pre-veterinary medicine from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, a Double Bachelors degree in Animal Science and Dairy Science from the University of Georgia, and attended veterinary school at St. George’s University, graduating in 2009. In 2018 she received her Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner Certificate from the University of Tennessee.
Her favorite part of being a veterinarian is being able to enhance the quality of life for four-legged fur babies and she loves seeing the look on a pet’s face when they get to reunite with their family. Her goal as a veterinarian is to provide services which help to improve the quality of life for patients and owners. As a Medical Director at RAH her goal will be to enhance existing services and standards, while also introducing new and improved services. Her aim is to not only provide the best care possible, but the best customer service as well.
Dr. Hooper married her husband in 2008 and they have many pets including cats, dogs, horses, and cows. They are an avid outdoors family with a love for photography and art.
Elizabeth has been part of the RAH family since 2012. She started as a Receptionist and worked her way up to Practice Manager. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her Doberman “Drogon.”
Carolyn Smith, LVT
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Carolyn has always loved working with animals and upon retiring from military service decided to use her degree to work as a Veterinary Technician. Carolyn’s critical care skills and vast medical knowledge make her an amazing asset to the RAH team.
In her spare time she enjoys serving the community by volunteering with her local church and working with animals. During her time in the military, she had the opportunity to travel and work with wildlife sanctuaries – even working with elephants in Thailand!
Amanda has been with RAH since August 2017 at first working in the Kennel before moving to Reception. She enjoys not only caring for pets staying in the hospital, but also helping pet parents in the community. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her children and her pets. She also loves going to baseball games and is a huge Braves fan.
